Mashed potatoes are a really easy accompaniment to various stews, simmering dishes and meat sauces. And then most people also tend to be crazy about mashed potatoes – at least that’s how it is at home!
Mashed potatoes recipe
Here you get my recipe for a completely classic mashed potato. This variant is therefore made exclusively on potatoes. But mashed potatoes can also easily be sneaked into some vegetables without the children and the rest of the family noticing. For example, you can try experimenting with putting cauliflower, broccoli, various root vegetables and celeriac in the bog.
Below I come up with suggestions for what you can serve your mash with.
Ingredients
700 g of potatoes are boiled in lightly salted water
50 g butter
100 of cooking cream
salt and white pepper
25 grams of celery finely diced
Pinch of chopped capers
Fried spinach for the crispy garnishing
Prep:
- Peel a squash, grate it and cut it into small pieces.
- Boil them in lightly salted water until tender
- Mash them roughly with a fork in a bowl
- Add butter, cream and salt and pepper and beat with an electric whisk
Serve mashed potatoes with…
I have lots of casseroles and simmering dishes inside my side that you can take a look at. You will find the overview of them all here. Here, for example, are goulash, hunter’s stew and stew with beef and cream sauce. The bog can also be used for a round of burning love or million steaks.
The mash can also easily be served with meat that is not stewing. For example, meatballs, stuffed chicken breasts or the like.
Potatoes as an accompaniment
In addition, I also have a category called “Potatoes as an accompaniment”. Here you will find potatoes served in different ways – including cream potatoes, stuffed potatoes, baked potatoes, potato salad and various kinds of fritters.
